You’re not a tourist, you’re a traveller. Here’s what you need to do to ensure you get the best experience:
1. Bring a DSLR in order to get picturesque snapshots (because all photography travellers have one). 2. Make sure there aren't those pesky tourists in your shot (you don't count as one because you're a traveller). 3. Photoshop out the unsightly bits and choose the most appealing filter to enhance the photos (because who wants to see the reality?) 4. Share your work with others in your community so they too can go to the same places and take the same photos. 5. Repeat in your next destination.

Seriously tho,
Travel guides often tell us where to go and what to do to capture the perfect shot, however when we take a snapshot of a place, do we think about the issues behind pressing a simple button? Often, the photos captured serve to reproduce the perceived authenticity of a place from the eyes and imagination of the photographer. The same few images get reproduced so many times, it becomes labelled as what is ‘authentic’. The way every photographer interprets the place and their photos is subjective but when these photos and places become over-popularised and everyone starts visiting it, then this could lead to a problem of staged authenticity. Where a place becomes increasingly “staged” for tourists so as to look authentic like in the photos.
Has this change the way you look at the photos you take or have taken on holidays?
